Dear Ministry Friend:

Thank you for opening your heart to the work and ministry of Project Bridges. We are encouraged by your prayers, uplifting words and financial support. Our work continues to blossom in amazing ways even during the pandemic. Praise the Lord! As we approach the final hours of 2021, look at some of what we have been doing and prayerfully consider making a year-end donation.

Community Transformation

Our Community Transformation Initiative (CTI) is fueled by our belief in the Exponential Power of Unity. We have seen that we can accomplish so much more when we come together as the Body of Christ. Our CTI serves 25 churches and faith-based non-profits in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Through the ministries of these 25 strategic partners, we have distributed 325 pallets of clothing, COVID-19 supplies, household goods, diapers, formula, toys, and personal care products to area families in need with an estimated value of over $900,000.

We are on a limited income and many supplies needed for Ody, my handicapped son, are quite expensive. We have been overwhelmed with your generosity and appreciate you very, very much.

May God bless you beyond understanding for making a difference!

The McNett Family

The CTI also serves twelve (12) Title I schools. As area schools resumed the arduous task of in-person learning we were blessed to provide over 1,000 face masks, 79,740 (8 oz.) bottles of hand sanitizer and 2,250 packages of Lysol wipes. We also donated administrative supplies, furnishings, refrigerators and self-care gifts for teachers and staff.

Food distribution is not typically in our portfolio of services. However, because of the pandemic we were invited to work with one of our partners between January and March to receive and distribute fresh produce to area families in need through eight (8) key faith partners. We distributed 6,380 boxes of fresh produce.

Educational Opportunities

Many people have used the void created by the pandemic to pursue educational goals. Over forty (40) congregants of our member churches are benefitting from 25% tuition discounts from our wonderful educational partners Regent University, Lancaster Bible College | Capital Seminary and Graduate School, and Denver Seminary DC. Some have even received their degrees during this time!

When I enrolled in Lancaster Bible College/Capital Seminary and Graduate School to major in Clinical Mental Health Counseling I knew that I would have to get student loans to pay for my tuition, but little did I know that I would be blessed with a scholarship for three years from Project Bridges through my church at First Baptist Church of Glenarden. This scholarship was instrumental in helping me to defray the cost of tuition and books while working and attending graduate school full-time for three years.

I am in awe of all that God has done and thankful for the scholarship that I received for three years from Project Bridges that culminated in me graduating with honors with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling on Friday, December 17, 2021, from LBC/Capital Seminary and Graduate School in Lancaster, PA. Praise God!

Thank you, Project Bridges for helping me to reach my goal.
